My Journey into Pearl Processing

In my last post, I shared how I got into the pearl farming business that my family inherited. Today, I want to talk about how I started pearl processing to turn our locally grown pearls into beautiful jewelry.

After several years of pearl farming, I decided to open a small workshop next to our farm to process pearls into accessories. I learned the skills of drilling, polishing, knotting and threading to make necklaces, earrings, rings, etc. I experimented with various designs and techniques to turn each pearl into a shining gem.

It is gratifying to see our raw pearls transformed into dazzling ornaments. I am proud that I not only use my own cultured pearls for production, but also for processing and design. It completes the pearl’s journey from oyster to consumer.

I am excited to carry on the family’s expertise and share these unique pearl creations with you.” If you have any suggestions for my processing method or design, please let me know. I hope to continue to progress while carrying on my pearl-making legacy.
